Dr. Charles Elias Makasi is currently a Ph.D. candidate; working with the National Institute for Medical Research as a Research Scientist. He is a medical doctor by background; graduated with his first degree in medicine (MD) from the University of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. He holds a Masters degree in Public Health from the University of Melbourne, Australia. He also obtained his postgraduate diploma in Clinical Trials from the University of London. He has more than 20 years of working experience in clinical practice and research areas (especially in Clinical Trials). He has also been working as a TDR/WHO Clinical Monitor for Research Conduct and Good Clinical Practice. Dr. Makasi contributed to the design and conduction of the Neurocognitive Assessment Battery for low- and middle-income developing countries including Tanzania. His main goal is to build a satisfying career in medical practice and research areas.
